College student hunger is a pressing concern. Many CCC students are eligible for federal and state benefits programs, such as CalFresh, that can help them afford food and other necessities. Colleges can help by becoming EBT retailers, so that students can use their benefits to make purchases on campus.
The CCC Chancellor’s Office developed this comprehensive guidebook to support colleges in these efforts. It contains step-by-step instructions, practical tips, and resources and tools that colleges can pick up and use to become EBT retailers. The guidebook also features a case example highlighting Los Angeles Community College District’s strategies to address student hunger.
